MGS V TPP: Such Feels, Much Grind, Repetitive Lot

It was my fourth time, doing the level [Extreme] Metallic Archaea, when Quiet suddenly gone from the war zone, and there I am, running like a headless chicken, evading bullets and projected magical flying rocks made by those Parasite Units, while wearing Lil' Chicken hat, wondering where that assassin gone. Then, I died. Again.

It was my first realization that I will met the real ending between Phantom Boss and Quiet, the last battle of those two. Even though I already read about how to hold her to leave, but I still forgot about that. Back then, it was when the gameplay still awesome.

A month since I posted about my experiences on 14-hours playing it, I experienced many things. From finished the main story and defeating Sahelanthropus, to a bit-of-surprised announce of Chapter 2 called, which held a lot of........difficulty-upgraded previous missions. Yeay for excitement!!

The Chapter 2, of course, is an extended story line for TPP. The main story was ended on the last mission of Chapter 1, when you finally defeat Sahelanthropus, and "playing" with Skull Face. On Chapter 2 was just like an epilogue for a novel, two or three last chapter before closing down the curtain. Lines of foreshadowing events for its predecessors games.

!!!! WARNING. FOLLOWING PARAGRAPHS CONTAINED SPOILERS. MAY PROCEED BY YOUR OWN CAUSE !!!!

We're started on the main thing first: The Truth. Like many people and game reviewer had said, we've been punk'd. We thought we played as Snake, Big Boss himself, a legendary soldier who able to defeat Shagohod while speeding on a bike, smoking cigars and love to say "huh?". Well, it all revealed on the chapter, we, the main character, was a medic, a high rank and skilled one, which saved true Big Boss life during the accident nine years prior. Later, showing on the cutscene, Ishmael was dragged out by a figure, which was Ocelot and called him Boss, and revealing the original Big Boss himself was safe and sound, wearing leather jacket and no shrapnel on his forehead, and riding a Triumph bike, the same one who old EVA rode on MGS4.

Then there was a scene where Huey, which was Hal's/Otacon's dad was exiled from the Mother Base, by using raft, screaming and stuff, while Snake, Miller, and Ocelot (with the rest of the soldier) stood and Miller doing the monologue.

Then Sahelanthropus went alive, again, with help of flying boy (who will we know as Psycho Mantis) and the one and only, Eli a.k.a. Liquid Snake, attacked Snake and then leaving the Mother Base with the child soldier.

And then Quiet. Gone. And never came back. The truth is it was really sad when you see the cutscene. I rather not to spoil it here. Experience it yourself people.

!!!! END OF SPOILERS !!!!

The Good Guy Medic and The Quiet Assassin
And then, right after Quiet gone, it all started to reveal its true skin: it going repetitive and went boring. Even though I played the difficulty-upgraded mission, it still bored. I don't know if it was caused by how attached my gameplay was with the existence of Quiet or it was really boring. Especially when you started to grinding on Heroism and extracting soldiers in order to level up your divisions (R&D, Base Dev, Intel, etc.) on the same mission again and again and again and you went to the free roam, extracting soldiers again and again endlessly.

It was on 61% when I decided to stop to play it. I already had the Hand of Jehuty, Parasite suit, Grey Fox suit, and any other "kewl thangs". I see nothing I could do anymore. And everytime I turned on the Metal Gear Online, no one played at the same time with me :(

But after all, the experience of playing this game was great. Beyond great, almost awesome. For me it conflicted my emotions on several cutscenes, sadness, and something like "realization" on the series. About doublethinker Ocelot and abused small Hal by Huey. I pulled a salute to Hideo Kojima for this.

Well played, sensei.
